Un conteneur 40 pieds, c'est un problème de physique avant d'être un problème de logistique. Voici comment nous planifions poids, calage et documents.
Weight first
A 40ft high-cube container accepts roughly 26,000 kg of cargo, but the limiting factor is usually floor point loading, not total weight. Line array cabinets concentrate load on small feet. We spread them on plywood pads and keep heavy subwoofers over the container's cross-members, never floating over the middle of a floor span.
A typical mixed load of eight line array elements, four subs, two amp racks and a console lands around 6,000–8,000 kg. That leaves room for cases — and cases are what actually protect the gear.
Cases versus pallets
Flight cases are the correct packaging for touring equipment. When cases are not available, we build export crates with internal blocking so cabinets cannot shift. Cabinets stacked directly on a pallet with stretch wrap will arrive with crushed corners; we have never seen an exception.
Moisture
Sea freight crosses climate zones. We put desiccant bags inside cases and line crates with VCI film for anything with exposed connectors. Amplifiers and consoles travel with silica gel and are powered up for an hour after arrival before being connected to loudspeakers.
Documentation
Every shipment leaves with a packing list that matches the serial numbers in the test records, a commercial invoice, and photos of the loading process. Photos matter: they are the difference between an insurance claim that is paid and one that is argued for months.
Insurance and Incoterms
FOB Guangzhou means the buyer's risk starts when the container is loaded. CIF is available and includes freight and minimum marine insurance. We recommend all-risk cover for used electronics; the premium is small relative to a single destroyed amplifier rack.
What to check on arrival
Photograph the container seal before opening, then photograph each case as it comes out. Power up processors and consoles before connecting anything, and let them stabilise for an hour. If something is damaged, stop and document before signing the delivery receipt.
Planning a consolidated load
If you are buying across categories, send us the full list before paying deposits. We can hold units for two to three weeks to build one efficient container instead of shipping three partial ones.
